We're tucked in our motel for the evening but it may be hard to sleep tonight. Tomorrow we are visiting the Machine Quilting show in Overland Park while Kay hangs out at the convention center. Tomorrow evening is Sample Spree which is kind of like a free for all shopping event. Hundreds of people all after the same thing - new fabrics and patterns.
We have Lynette Anderson's Christmas line of fabric on order. Here's a peek at the sample made with it. The pattern will be on Lecien fabric's website around mid-May.

The book is even better than we expected! It's full of applique techniques and even includes a pattern CD. If you like applique, this is the book for you.
When we saw the pattern for this, we knew we just had to make it. While we like wool as a background, it adds to the expense so we looked for a suitable alternative. We discovered the softest flannel fabric that worked wonderfully - it's not only very soft but has the just right feel for the time period of the piece. We think it's a winner. What about you?
