It's party time! May 27, 2013

Please plan to attend our After Market Party Saturday 9:00-3:00.  We are so excited to share what we saw and bought while at spring market in Portland.  We took 2 empty suitcases with us and brought back 2 full suitcases.  Carolyn Nixon, the author of Memories of Christmas Past and Butterfly Fields, will be at the shop on Saturday.  She's bringing quilts from her Butterfly Fields book to inspire you.  She'll be happy to sign your book(s) so bring them if you've already purchased a copy.

We will also have refreshments at our party and a free pattern from Crabapple Hill.  Hope you can make it!

We received Lynette Anderson's new book "Stitch it for Spring".  This book is probably the best value on the market - 8 projects for only $12.99. That's $1.62 per project!  Many of you bought Lynette's Stitch it for Christmas and were disappointed that the templates weren't full size. We conveyed your disappointment to Lynette and we're happy to report this book has FULL SIZE templates for all projects.

We have been busy and have a project from the book ready to inspire you. This is Garden Delights Table Topper. You'll probably notice ours is not like the piece in the book --- bet that surprises you. We chose a monochromatic color scheme which makes the topper perfect for just about any decor. We have kits for $26.95 which include the book, stitchery fabric, stabilizer, border and backing fabric, appliqué fabrics, AND Valdani thread. Let us know if we can reserve a kit for you.

This next piece is not what we typically create but chickens and roosters are very popular right now so we thought you might like a fun piece.  Kits are available and include the pattern, background fabrics, wool, binding, and eyes....oh.....and the change we made to the pattern.

To those on the waiting list for the Quiltmania books - thank you, thank you for being so patient.  The books were supposed to arrive in Dallas mid-May, then late May, and now June 6.  Come to find out, they're coming by boat (we're thinking the captain took a wrong turn and instead of docking on the east coast is going around the tip of South America to the west coast).  Once they arrive in Dallas on June 6, they will process our order and we hope to be in possession no later than June 10.....fingers crossed!

One last item before we close.  We have been asked to tell you about a fun quilting group.  The group meets every other Monday (June 3 is the next meeting) at the Grace Methodist Church located at 1801 S Dixieland in Rogers.  Members usually arrive around 4:30 (but don't by shy about coming later if you work).  They usually break about 6:00 for dinner and leave around 8:00.  A teacher will be available to assist if you are having "issues" with a project and usually has a block or technique to show.  There's no membership fee but donations to the teacher are appreciated.  If you have questions or would like more info, please don't hesitate to contact us.

We realize some of you already have plans for Saturday so will have to miss our party.  Carolyn will likely have to take her samples with her for her next event but we'll have the market goodies on display throughout the week.  Hope to see you Saturday!
